Using a credit card with a chip has not changed much with the previous mechanism when using only a credit card magnetic stripe technology. When performing a transaction, you need to know are as follows:

  • Credit card to the cashier that you submit will be processed in a way incorporated into the completed EDC chip reader. Cards will be processed prior to encryption to verify the credit card issuer through an online network.
  • After the verification procedure is completed, the completed EDC chip reader transaction receipt will be issued receipts that must be signed by the cardholder transaction.
  • Transaction is completed.
Transactions no longer be swiped but incorporated (such as taking money using ATM), but if the credit card transaction you are still using the old mechanism that is swiped transactions, credit card and that means not using the EDC chip technology.
